Customer Reviews

Fun product, great support. A little trick to help you if you have trouble.

First and foremost, the 5 stars is due to their outstanding customer service. Noah was a pleasure to work with. We had some trouble (which I’ll get to below) connecting our GoTenna’s, and without hesitation Noah helped me swap out for another pair. I sincerely appreciate their help to make the experience a success.

Go exploring but stay in touch! Works wherever your cell service doesn’t, indoors or out.

I’ve been a satisfied user of these excellent devices since early beta testing. I keep a pair in both cars in case we end up somewhere without cell service and in case of emergencies. Even in areas where there is cell coverage but only one or two bars, using a Gotenna instead will keep your phone from losing battery quickly because the low power bluetooth radios use a fraction of the power that the cellular antenna does. This is the case at a ski resort I frequent, where there is spotty to zero cell coverage but the Gotennas work like magic, knowing that others have read your messages and dropping location pins to coordinate meet ups. The excellent offline maps even have the ski resort runs mapped out in some places! The battery life is great, turned off they last for months, and for a few days of normal usage, and the range has worked great for everything we’ve needed (and know the limitations – 1/2 mile in the city, up to a few miles rural areas or line of sight). The smartphone app is updated frequently with new features, they just added the ability to allow friends to ping your phone’s location, so you can meet up without having to wait for a reply or if they have their phone put away. I’d recommend these to anyone with a family or group of friends that like to go exploring but stay in touch. It even works great indoors – I tried it at a conference in a hotel where nobody had phone service but I could coordinate with coworkers easily.

goTenna – works are advertised, great support, enables Garmin Rhino-like GPS location sharing to SmartPhones.

I purchased 2 goTennas in Aug 2016 for use with the hiking group I help organize. We normally have 15-24 people hiking in the White Mountains every Saturday year round. Cell reception can be spotty or non-existent. When the group is larger we will spread out over 1/4 – 1/2 mile at times. GMRS/FRS Radios do work, but require the other person to hear it, and be able to respond.

Solid product with great customer service!

Got the gotennas for occasional use when going for hikes or traveling. The battery life of the product is really impressive and the product is well designed. The customer service was great when I had some trouble setting up my app – I sent a support request in on Sunday evening and got a reply early Monday morning! They accurately diagnosed what I was doing wrong and helped me get set up. The app itself is well designed and easy to use. I have one setup on an Android phone and the other on my friends Apple device. It works both indoors and outdoors which is a great plus as well.

Bought these as a gift for my hubby, and he was ecstatic to test them out. Was very easy to set up, and so far we were able to connect over a mile away!

Great product to send texts with no cell service.

I planned on using this on hiking and climbing trips only, but I’ve found myself using goTenna with a few of my friends who have it any time my cell service is spotty. It’s super reliable and I’ve found the range to be really great – especially in the middle of nowhere I can reach basically anybody that I’m out on a trip with. This is a great product for anyone who wants to avoid the frustrations of seeing your phone service go in and out when you really need to send a message (so everyone!).

Fantastic way to communicate with no reception

The goTenna is a great, compact way to communicate with people who you know will be nearby in areas with bad cell reception. I used it a few times at concerts when the cell towers are overloaded and I couldn’t find the group of people I was with, and it worked great. I also had no problems with using it to send location to friends I was hiking with. Overall, it’s well designed, sleek, and has definitely been worth the price.
